2021 GCA Crab Feed Update

Due to Covid-19, the GCA will not be holding our annual Crab Feed Event in 2021.  In an effort to provide a little connection for members in the winter months, the GCA Crab Feed Committee decided to purchase crab this year exclusively for GCA members.  Members wishing to participate were asked to pre-order and pay for their tickets prior to December 1, 2020.

Ticket holders will pickup their crab on Saturday, February 6, 2021 (Time to be announced).  Crab is the only item being sold - tickets are $35.00 each and will include 2 cleaned crabs.

To all who reserved tickets for the 2021 GCA Crab Feed..............................

** As a reminder - Checks are Due to Phil Stewart by the end of November

    • Tickets are $35.00 each.
    • Prior to December 1, 2020 -- please send your checks PAYABLE TO GCA to:
        Phil Stewart
        POB 403
        Grapeview, WA 98546

We will create an alphabetical list rather than issue tickets for all paid participants and use this to dispense crab on Saturday February 6, 2021. Checks will be forwarded to Macky McClung, GCA Treasurer.  The time is still being decided upon, but most likely, barring any weather concerns, it will be early afternoon. Should weather (read snow) be forecast into February, we may move the distribution date back into January rather than further into February.

We will handout the crab somewhere behind the MCFD#3 buildings.  The lineup will start along the Grapeview Loop Road shoulder in front of the old store.  Cars will be directed across the intersection, around the East side of the Horton Center, then behind the buildings to tents set up for distribution.  Upon receipt of the crab, cars will be directed back onto the Loop Road.  We hope to have everyone home before dark.

Thank you,

Phil Stewart, Co-Chair 2021 GCA Crab Feed

2020 GCA Crab Feed - Event Recap!

The recent 2020 GCA Crab Feed (February 13th, 14th, 15th) was again a sold-out success. The GCA chairs for this fun event would like to thank all of the GCA members and their guests who attended and enjoyed the All-You-Can-Eat Crab!

We also would like to thank all the volunteers from the GCA who planned the event, sourced and delivered the supplies, food and crab; helped with tickets; created the raffle baskets; sold raffle tickets; helped with the hall setup and cleanup each day; and staffed the event -- from the parking lot help to the servers, the crab wranglers and the kitchen staff! Our volunteers always have a great time serving and taking care of our guests, so don't miss this great volunteer opportunity next year.

We wish to also thank the sponsors for their generous donations which helped in so many ways to put on this event.

  • Beachcombers Garden Club – Grapeview
  • Gordon & Sheila Daviscourt of “Stitch In Time”
  • Shae & Dale Oien of “Oien Construcion”
  • Les Okonek
  • Vicki Phillips (GiggyBaskets on Etsy) .
  • Stacey Scoles & Karie Lucero
  • Dick Vlist Motors, Inc.
  • Mason County Garbarge
  • Taylor Shellfish

A special thank you to our event co-chairs, Louise Okonek and Phil Stewart, and to the 2020 Crab Feed Committee members who again put together a great team of volunteers to ensure the success of our event!

The GCA Crab Feed is an important fund raiser for our association as the proceeds benefit a number of great causes in our community. Funds raised from the GCA Crab Feed and other GCA events support the Grapeview School, North Mason High School Scholarships, Faith In Action, The Coalition of Churches and Community “Food for Kids Backpack Program”, North Mason Food Bank, Senior Services for South Sound among other community supported programs.

The GCA would again like to thank all of the attendees, our generous volunteers, as well as all of the event sponsors. -- We hope to see you all again next year!
