Poster Contest

Please e-mail psesq@hotmail.com or maryberri7@aol.com.  You can also call 360-277-3673  for information.  The winner receives $100.  Entry deadline is June 1, 2012.

Poster Criteria:

* Subject – Represent the “spirit” of the festival – sailing, fish, boats, marine life, islands, trees, the Marina, flowers, mountains, beaches, etc.
* Size – Framed = 16” x 20” / Mat Opening = 11” x 14”
* One entry per artist
* Must be finished artwork completed within the last 2 years
* Signature – Must be signed by the artist
* Deadline – June 1, 2012
* Please submit your entry without matting and unframed

Other Information:

* We will add the words “2012 Grapeview Water and Art Festival” to the posters printed for sale at the festival.
* Original art will be returned to artists.
* The winner will be notified by June 8, 2012 and will be asked to sign a permission letter to copy the poster for sale at the Fair Harbor Marina, the Festival and, possibly, for publicity.

The Grapeview Community Web Site is your source for community information and is sponsored and maintained by the members of the Grapeview Community Associaiton (GCA).  Check the events below to see the local community activities.
 
The most popular and regular events are the GCA Second Friday membership meetings which include potlucks and theme socials.  These socials are open to GCA members and their guests and provide a great way to encourage your friends and neighbors to join the fun:

Potluck Dinners -
Bring a dish to share, beverage of choice and your place settings (place mats, flatware, plates, napkins, etc., cups or glasses.) 
      Social Theme Dinners - Fully prepared and everything is provided -- bring anything special you want to drink ($5.00/person, $3.00/child or $15.00/family)
Become a member and come to a Social, or come to a Social to become a member. Here are membership details and a membership form. For additional information you can call Sandy Carlson at 360-275-5024 or e-mail theteacher@wavecable.com.
 
A complete list of the GCA Members, standing meetings and events, will be in your membership directory which you get when you join the GCA.  Please get your membership or renewal form and dues in by January 5th to get your directory in early February.  However you can join at any time during the year.  If you want your personal info added, updated or removed for next year, please contact Sandy Carlson at 360-275-5024 or e-mail theteacher@wavecable.com.

 It's TIME TO ENJOY the Mason County Community Concert Association. The concerts are held at the Shelton High School Performing Arts Center. A series costs an adult $60 for 5 concerts. Each concert is $30 ($5.00 for students) at the door. If you subscribed to the 2011-2012 series, these concerts are included.

 The concerts are varied from pop to classical and the quality is high. These are performers on the community concert circuit and travel all over the country.

Grapeview Community Association Announces Community Donations for 2011

The Grapeview Community Association is very pleased to announce donations the organization will make to the community from the proceeds of its fundraising activities.

In the YOUTH category, the GCA will award $3000 in scholarships, $500 to the North Mason High School Grad Night, $250 to the Grapeview School BUGS (Bringing Up Grades) program, $100 to the Grapeview PTA for their holiday food baskets, and $500 to the Coalition of Churches & Community for the Food for Kids Backpack program.

In the SENIOR category, the GCA earmarked $500 for the South Sound Senior Services lunch program, and $500 to Faith in Action for “Support Seniors Independent Living” program.

And in the COMMUNITY category, the GCA decided on donations to Snacks with Santa in the amount of $100, $500 to Faith in Action for the HUB Senior Center program and $100 to the Coalition of Churches and Community.

Major fundraisers for the GCA include the annual Crab Feed in February and the Grapeview Water Festival in July. The group also collects food and toiletries at its potlucks and events for the Food for Kids Backpack program. The Grapeview Community Association is a 501c(4) non-profit promoting material and social welfare and community spirit and in cooperation with other civic organizations.

The GCA welcomes new members and encourages participation at their numerous social and community events. The Grapeview Community web site, www.grapeviewwa.com, is sponsored and maintained by the members of the Grapeview Community Association (GCA) and is a great source for community information.
