Comments from Water Festival Chair: Louise Okonek, On behalf of the GCA. Louise Okonek extends a hearty ‘thank you’ to the many, dedicated volunteers and cochairs, starting with her No. 1 assistant, Val Paulson, who stepped up to organize and staff all the individual venues that made the 25th annual Water Festival such a tremendous success. Heartfelt ‘thanks’ also go out to the many sponsors, who generously donated food, beverages and supplies, and to Susan and Vern Nelson, owners of the Fair Harbor Marina, who again provided the perfect ‘home’ for the Water Festival. Without all of you, there would be no Grapeview Water Festival!!
Comments from Art Festival Chairpersons: Julie & Mike Creighton. Very successful art Festival! 55 artists represented in 46 booths, including 6 new artists. Many said ours is their favorite festival due to our friendly volunteers, assistance in booth set up & take down, a welcome of cookies & water, beautiful venue, reasonable registration fee & high turnout of fair goers. The addition this year of a mobile ATM machine was most helpful. Heartfelt thanks go to our awesome, hardworking volunteers who assisted our artists in every way possible! Roger Hansen's security crew was also extremely helpful in set up & take down. Kim Cimmery's Internet expertise is invaluable. Our artists exhibit a wide variety of high quality arts & crafts. Together with fantastic, dedicated GCA volunteers, our Grapeview Water & Arts Festival has become wonderful fundraiser for the community & a popular summer event in the South Sound.
